What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
Art can improve self-confidence and self-esteem in all individuals. Art can connect people to one another, and help them find connections from the art to themselves. Art can open people's minds and encourage them to take more risks, and be more inventive.

What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
One of the technologies that I have really enjoyed using was a music writing website to teach fractions. Students were using whole, half, and quarter notes specifically, but could definitely be given free reign if they understood fractions. The website gave my students an interesting and inventive way to practice adding fractions of different denominators. I have also shown a video from "How It's Made" to explain what dioramas are. Then I had the students create their own diorama of an animal habitat for an animal that they were researching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIBnqGfqpKg The next step could be to have them find a piece of music that they feel embodies their animal.

What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
How students with disabilities or students who are struggling in school need to have opportunities for self-expression, to be successful, and to see themselves in a positive light. The arts can be a big catalyst for these opportunities in the classroom. I also really took to heart the narrators and speakers in the videos talking about how much of school can be spent feeling frustrated or like a failure. I wouldn't want to go to work everyday if I felt that I was not performing and that everyone around me thought I wasn't smart. It really put me in my students' shoes, I hope that I can be a teacher that helps them...not one who makes them feel worse.
