Beware the Thumbnail

Richard Wilson
Many sites use thumbnails to show multiple pics or avenues that students or anyone else can use to delve further into the site they are using.  But, beware the use of thumbnails as they can take you places you may not really want to go.  They can have sub-thumbnail sites that can take our students far away from where they want to be.  Many are unsecured.  It is possible they can add stuff to your personal website you don't know is there.

Pre-evaluate your main purpose for computer use. Websites need to be secure and KNOW and understand and use Internet safety guidelines.  If students have any doubt, they should ask their instructor, teacher, facilitator.
