DC Internet Safety

Steffany King
After looking through the responses of other class participants, it appears that I am a social media queen.  I am not sure if that is a good thing or not!  I have a facebook personal page and am an admin on 4 others, three twitter accounts, two instagrams, google +, instagram, pinterest and a number of other sites that I don't use as frequently.  I admin our school twitter and facebook along with members of our administration and am checking privacy settings all the time.  I change the public vs friends setting on individual posts on a regular basis so that I am in control of who may be seeing what.

An interesting share or do you know it's there info... This week one of our sports teams made it to state and an image was posted on the school facebook account.  Within 12 hours it had been shared by 34 people - all of whom I can identify and check profiles of, and it had reached over 12,000 people.  Clicking on the share link you can see how many comments have been made on your page, but also on the people pages it has been shared by.  5 people hid the post and 2 hid all posts from this site, I don't know who they are but that's a pretty small number out of the people reached.  There is a lot of information that you can gather just through a click and it can tell you a lot about who and how many are really looking at what you have to say!
