DC Internet Safety

Joellyn Berg
I went through my personal Facebook account and my classroom one.  I changed passwords, but know that I should be doing this more often.  I set up so that I was notified when someone tags me or wants to post to our class page before it will just post. Our class page is set where it does not just come up unless you know the name, but I continue to watch this as I know there has been people that have liked pictures who I do not know.  I do check into these people and see how they may be able to find our picture and most of the time it is someone who is related to a student and their parent had liked our page.  I did find one person who I have not been able to figure out how they found our picture but I find that the settings for a page is different than for a personal account so if anyone knows how to make sure these pictures can only be seen by people who have liked our page I would appreciate any help in locating that on the settings. I watch who I friend or who I accept as friends on Facebook.  I try and watch what I post and the pictures to make sure that none of them can give too much information.  I never check in to places as it gives too much information as to the location where we are at or area we live in.  I have had the discussion with my family to make sure that they are not posting pictures that can give too much information as to where they may be, but I believe more needs to be done getting this information out to the kids in our school.
I also have a personal and class Twitter accounts that I monitor regularly to make sure my settings are secure.
