I explored Facebook and there are a lot account and setting preferences you can make to ensure privacy. For instance, you can choose who has access to your Pages and other things you have shared (Private/Public access). You can also control who sees your email address on your profile and who can find you. Within settings you can also change and set up notifications. Also, if someone were to find inappropriate postings or other abuses on Facebook there is a process to report such abuses.
