DC Internet Safety

Amy Ramker
I use Facebook and Instagram.  I explored the privacy and tools settings on Facebook and updated them to be more private.  While exploring the settings, I found a Family Safety Center in the Support Inbox which looks to be a resource with subtopics of Philosophy, Tools, Parents, Teachers, Teens and Law Enforcement.  It looked like a great place to explore internet safety with other links.  I plan spend time in the teacher tab and the teen tab, as I have students and children of my own on social media.  Also, under Support Inbox on Facebook is a Bullying tab that I plan to further explore, hoping it will give me some good information to share with my students on our weekly PBIS activity/education day in homeroom.

Amy:

Thank you for mentioning the different area of Facebook that can help you with students and children.  I started looking through my Facebook settings I decided that I was going to change my Public Post Comments to only include my friends.  I really do not like that friends of friends, or the public can comment on my posts.
