When doing any kind of online social networking, it is a good idea to ALWAYS check your privacy settings. Make sure your online social accounts are set to as private as you can get. You can never be to careful especially in this day and age. It is extremely important to check your online social accounts often as privacy settings, updates, etc., change quite often. One needs to be on top of those things. I also didn't realize that on Twitter you could be located by your phone number. This is something I will talk about with my family and my students. I will make sure to remind my family to check their privacy settings on all their social media accounts.
