What user rights do you feel should be part of the norms in this digital world? What user responsibilities do you feel should be expressed in this digital world?
Working with middle schoolers, I have learned that they think they have the right to post anything they want on the internet. This can lead them to bullying and criticizing others or being involved in inappropriate conversations. Students have a false sense of privacy - thinking that what they say or post can only be seen by a select few. Student (and adults) need to learn that while they have the right to post they also carry the responsibility of posting what is appropriate for others to see and protects their privacy.
