DC Intro: Norms and responsibilities

James Hayworth
I agree with Laura Byers who wrote:
"Students should all be taught what their rights and responsibilities are before giving access to technology. So many kids and young adults do not understand the consequences of using technology until after it is too late. They need to understand the importance of being safe and not giving out information that could come back and haunt them for the rest of their lives."
It is a PROCESS and here is why, all children do not first learn how to run in life, they learned to crawl, walk, trot/jog and then run.  Another example is teenagers learning to drive, you do not throw them the keys and send them on their way, they are educated about rights and responsibilities, they are tested for knowledge, skills and abilities, they are given opportunities to drive with adults and instructors using their permits before they earn their rights & responsibilities to posses a driver"s license.
People should be taught Right from Wrong, and held responsible for their actions when they deviate from the norm.  We all know life is rough and not fair and the sooner our youth learn that, the better off they will be.
If we continue to lower our standards where is the stopping point.  Society is full of rules and laws we all have to follow in order to get along in this world.  We used to tell our children if there were no rules in this world how fun of a world would that be to live in, where anyone can do anything to anybody?
