DC internet safety

Eric Chicas
I looked at Facebook settings for creating a group.  I work for a school in which safety is a real issue for our students, as any link to our school could make the student a target for kidnapping.  We want to be able to promote our school to potential hires and the community at large, and while Facebook has privacy settings for groups, they're not particularly practical or ideal for our situation.  For example, you can set up a Facebook group so that people have to request to join the group... while they can't see the content published for the group, they can still see who's been added as a member of the group, thereby revealing to potential kidnappers who is affiliated with the school in some way.  There is another level of security in which people can only join the group by invite only (and no one can search for the group and see who's a member), but this isn't very practical.
