Digital Citizenship Intro: Inappropriate Use Digital Media

As I sat in a meeting pertaining to a high school student the other day, a student had taken pictures of his privates and emailed the photos to classmates. The student was met with expulsion from school and was fortunate not to have had received legal actions taken against him from the incidence as well.

This incidence may have been avoided if the student had more properly trained on digital citizenship and given some examples of inappropriate actions for him to understand more accurately what was expected of him.  Being young, students need to be taught what is right and what is wrong being a digital citizen in our world just as students need driver's education to drive, students need digital citizenship training to be successful as they use technology in our world.
