Digital Citizenship Rights and Responsibilities

Deborah Bowers
The world has massively changed with the formation of the world wide web and devices that interact with it. Given that we humans share this planet, we should consider how we want to proceed. I would choose peace. We have laws in place to help govern our behaviors. We also have norms that others around us believe. Those things all affect us. We can't make all of our decisions without consideration for the others.

We have the right to access the new technologies and to use world wide communications. We should be kind. We should be considerate. We can express ourselves, but be aware that others will probably respond. Free speech is a valued part of our governing rules. Not harming others is also one of our norms. These are the basic concepts of rights and responsibilities in technology use. Some misuse this. We have probably all seen that happen. We can only try to get along. Without some level of rules and ideas about safety and preserving pace, we are lost.
