Digital Etiquette

Marcy Volkstorf

Working in a school, I do see a solid effort being made to educate students on appropriate digital etiquette. However, we have run into a few problems in our home. We have a middle school child who was a victim of some malicious actions. She did a good job of sharing the information with us and not buying into it. Parents need to regularly monitor, check and re-check to make sure they are aware of what their child is involved in. In my opinion, just talking about it is not enough......parents need to physically look at the device and take action.

It is difficult to balance privacy and safety. It sounds like you are a great parent!
