Digital Literacy-Resource

Lorine Linde
I have organized student websites using Symbaloo.  I find it user friendly and easy to manage.  I have also set up my homepage at my home using Symbaloo.  My husband uses this organization tool with ease.

I have used Little Bird Tales the most often in my classroom with students.  I have read stories that I do not have on Book on Tape or cannot find a Youtube video that I have liked to use during my listening center.  I have read math and science based stories on LBT so students can listen and do activities in math and science without my guidance.  I have also had my students rewrite a favorite story and have using student illustrations.  I have posted all 3 types of LBT on my Symbaloo school home page so students can share with parents at home.

I really like the usage of Symbaloo that the elementary teachers implemented in the Irwin building! It made it very easy for the kids to locate the site that they were looking for! For kids, especially at your teaching level, who are just starting the to learn to sound out letters and recognize what the letters look like the use of pictures is a must!

Symbaloo looks interesting. Is there a subscription fee that you have to pay to have your entire class use it?
