Digital Literacy Resource

Dan Spooner
I think Animoto is a great way to create a simple video slideshow.  It is a beneficial tool that can be used both in and out of the classroom.  Students could create a slideshow about themselves, their life, values, goals, etc. to music.  It makes it a fun way for kids to create presentations/reports.

Powtoon is another great presentation resource. I have used it numerous times starting with kids in the 3rd grade. It is a great resource that adds animation into the presentation. The finished product can either be in presentation format or movie format.

I think your ideas are great Dan!  With all of the alterations a person can make with Instagram, Snapchat, and even their Facebook profiles, people want to change their initial appearance.  Allowing a student to create a movie about themselves using their own pictures, music, and info makes for a good ice-breaker project!

Animoto sounds like a great resource that my students would have fun with. I always have my kids do an autobiography project and this sounds like a great tool.  It might be fun to use with them when we write fables too, since it is animated.
