Digital Literacy- Sharing Resources

Katy Stolba
Communication Website:
remind.com could be used to send real time messages to parents and families regarding various things that they need to be aware of.  Using this tool, messages would be sent directly to cell phones, and messages could be translated if needed.  Teachers would have the ability to see who's reading the messages.

Collaboration Website:
cacoo.com is a website that provides various templates of diagrams and flowcharts.  Student could use this templates to create presentations for research projects.

Creativity Website:
www.thinglink.com
Though this website, teachers can display pictures with various tags.  The tags included in the visual pictures could be linked to various pictures and/or documents, with auditory commentary.  Students could be given formative assessments after viewing the presentations, regarding the content.

Critical Thinking Website:
Create A Graph- Data Analysis (nces.edu.gov/ncekids/creategraph/default.apx) site is a wonderful tool to use to gather various data, but also to display different types of graphs.  This site would be an excellent teaching tool to discuss different graph types with students, and how to use each type.

Organization Website:
www.pinterest.com is a fantastic website for sharing ideas among teachers.  I have used this site and created different boards, such as "literacy ideas" "classroom organization" "math games", etc.  Pinning ideas and resources to the boards allows me to save the ideas for when I need them.  I have created games and anchor charts for my classroom use that I have found through this site.
