Digital Literacy

Melanie
Communication:  Voki Teach and Voki Presenter-these are lessons created by teachers in many areas such as literacy and are created with the standards and components in mind.  These presentations are visually appealing to students because they are done with visual characters that students will recognize.  I am signing up for this!!

Collaboration: Cacoo- these are mind-maps that students can build and teachers can build as well.  I am an ELA teacher and our building is pushing the use of mind-maps.  I signed up for this one too!

Creativity: Powtoon- I actually already use and have a PowToon account.  This is animated video presentations that teachers and students can create!  LOVE it....... get it, now! :)

Critical Thinking: Kahoot! This is one I already use and have used a lot this year!  It is my BEST find by far this last school year!  I use it to review and students get in and get a code, make up a name, sign in, and can have coded competition with their classmates!! I LOVE LOVE THIS ONE!!

Organization: Mindmeister- another site to sign up for digital and character presentations.  I will use this too!

As I researched these sites, I also thought Voki Teach and Presenter looked appealing (probably because we are both in the ELA field).  I would like to see my students be able to use these to create and teach one another.  I'm not even sure this is possible, but I think it would promote higher order thinking.
