Digital Literacy

Amy Johnston
I have used Kahoot as a learning/review activity with students.  Students love having access to the kindles to participate with the kahoot.  It challenges students to use mental math quickly, it holds students accountable (especially when students answer using one of the off the wall answers, I can look to see who is using that answer to hold them accountable).  The students enjoy Kahoots and are all engaged in learning and preparing for tests.

I have used Kahoot as well. The kids absolutely loved it! I used it as a long term sub to introduce myself to the students. I prepared a presentation on Google slides then used Kahoot to quiz them on how much they remembered about me. It was a great way to break the ice and let them develop a connection with me. I have used it several time since. I find if there are too many students playing at once it bumps players off. Anyone else experience this? I checked with the learning design coach from the district and he said he has experienced the same thing. Anybody have a solution for this?

I have not used Kahoots in my classroom as of yet. Reading your comment and others about it has encouraged me to give it a try in my classroom. It looks like a great resource.

My first experience with Kahoot was as a Substitute teacher.  The teacher had the review game all set up and the kids were all competing for the high scores!  It was a great tool to use! The day flew by!

I have not personally used Kahoot but many teachers I work with love using this.  I plan to explore it and see how I can use it in my careers class.
