Digital Rights and Responsibilities

Pam Hanson
I think it is fairly unclear what rights we have online.  For example my friend is an artist and created an original work of art.  She later found that someone was selling an exact duplicates of that piece of art.  She had stolen the idea off a picture posted on Facebook.  My friend had to confront her and threaten legal action to stop her from stealing ideas.  Most people may go about their life not knowing that that is not appropriate.  By teaching our students digital citizenship, we providing them with the opportunity to stop and then before they act.  So much of their life is lived online that they don't stop to think of any consequences.
