Digital resources

Katrina Shirley
What a wealth of information!  I love that these links are included in our class.  I was able to look through many of these and was excited at the possibilities to use them in education!

Communication: Wordle for a poetry unit, Little bird tales to create, publish and present our own stories!

Collaboration: Cacoo had lots of ways to help organize the classroom including lesson planning and classroom set-up.  There were lots more ideas in this article: https://nulab-inc.com/blog/cacoo/creating-lesson-plans-cacoo/

Creativity: paper.li We could create our own class newspaper!

Critical Thinking : bubbl.us for brainstorming in groups

Delicious: Excited about sharing favorites with other teachers and being able to find them easily again

I am looking forward to implementing these this year!

I know I am very excited to try Bubbl.us in the classroom.  Many times students are not always vocal about their ideas (or too vocal and the noise level in a classroom goes way up).  I am hoping this will give a more level playing field and allow some of the more timid students, whom I am sure have good ideas, to be able to type them out and have them seen equally.  Perhaps I will have to give students some code names, etc....  I also hope that group work may become a bit more peaceful, I know sometimes I feel the room is loud with all 24 students sharing their ideas.

I also like Prezi and Mural, and of course Google!
