What speaks to you?
I think the idea that Art can be used to teach tolerance of individual differences. Art gives students a voice that they may have not found otherwise for whatever reason. Some students are reluctant to be verbal because of their confidence in their academic abilities, and art gives them that voice and expression.
Does it give you any ideas?
This gives me the idea to create a research study project for studying a group of artists and turn it into a cross curricular project amongst different subject areas culminating with a verbal expression art project.
How do you integrate art into your current curriculum?
I try to incorporate art usually as it pertains to different holidays pretty consistently. We are using more art based projects in math to understand the concepts being taught.
