Facebook Privacy Settings

Elizabeth Bevans
I took this opportunity to review both mine and my teens Facebook privacy settings. First, I went through the Facebook setting tutorial to make sure I was aware of all the different setting options. Then, I double checked all of our privacy settings. We have all of ours set to the most private option available. In addition, I made sure that the default setting for posts and pictures are all set to "only me". With this option, when we share something, we manually have to change the audience to "friends only" or "public" (which we never use). Because we cannot control what others post, we have our privacy set to "only me" for things we are tagged in or that are shared with us. This way, we have the option to make sure it's appropriate and it will not show up on our timeline unless individually approved by one of us. Our location is turned off and our friend list is set to private. It was nice to take the time to confirm that our Facebook accounts are private and as safe as possible.
