I have my facebook set to private. Only friends can see things. I only accept friend requests from people I know. Be careful of the friends of friends settings and click that off or people off your friends list can see your things. Also watch out for tagging. If people are tagging you in things all the time then pictures you don't add can show up on your account. You shouldn't let anyone on your friends list that you are concerned about and watch what you post.
