Facebook Resources

Jessica Moore
As a substitute I likely won't be managing a classroom style Facebook page but I love the opportunity to look up the schools and possibly the classes I will be teaching in. I also have found it helpful now that my oldest daughter has started kindergarten her teacher has a Facebook page that you can join and be a part of for the year your child is in her class and she gives little updates! Really using it as a good communication tool.

I work also for the YMCA where I live and our aquatics staff has developed a Facebook page that allows quick relay of information and group discussion as well as the sharing of articles about aquatics related happenings.

One thing I like about Facebook search is the ability to search articles that have been posted to Facebook -- I can search for all sorts of articles and information on substitute teaching right in Facebook. Of course it is important to check links and fact check but it is a neat feature. The most important thing for me is linking up to the district I am working for on Facebook and keeping up with district news.
