Facebook Settings

Nicki Ruthaivilavan
I just did a Privacy Check Up on my Facebook account and reviewed and adjusted what information is shared on my profile, and with whom. I have my profile set so that most of my information is available to friends only. One convenient feature is the View As tool. You can see what your profile looks like to the public and to friends. I also went through and deleted third party apps that I had used Facebook to log into or taken quizzes on, etc. that were still linked to my account. Something that I think students (and adults) should be reminded of is that even if you don't share a picture, others can still post photos of you and tag you, and those photos are visible to others. I often un-tag myself or remove photos or posts from my Timeline that others have sent to me or tagged me in.

I didn't know the View As tool existed until I was looking over my account today.
