Filtering with GMAIL

Julie E Bauer
I had always seen the FILTER option in Settings, but I never took the time to review how it worked.  I receive so emails that clutter my inbox (and that unsubscribe doesn't always work) as well as emails from organizations like ASCD and AMLE, I decided that I would try setting up those to go directly to my pre-existing label.

In all, I set up ten recurring addresses to go directly to their appointed label and NOT to my Inbox.

The SNOOZE function was a new one for me, too.  The icon has always been there, but taking the time to click on it and figure out what it does is something I had to take the time to do for this assignment.  I have students submit a weekly email on a given topic, so snoozing them until the day they're due and then grading them will help quiet my OCD-ness when seeing unread messages in my Inbox!

I would like to have been able to play around with the LABS options, but it is not available in my school.

Finally, I know I can share all of these tips with my students who, if not already, will have their own email address as they enter high school.
