I am not currently teaching but I help mentor young adults transitioning to adulthood. I like to try to have them think about how they learn and remember best, consider their learning style. I affirm that what works in money management is what will work for them. Often they will say that they see color easier than black and white so we try to think of ways they can use color when they are handling their personal finances. Also, by using some kind of an envelope or snack size ZIPLOCK bag is an easy management tool to keep receipts for recording when they get home. Also, always ask the checker for the receipt when something is purchased.
