Financial Literacy in Content Area

I teach a Careers explore class for 7th and 8th grade students. I was surprised how many students didn't understand the difference between a debit card and a credit card. My goal is to help educate my students on financial literacy. I am hoping to be able to learn some better ways to teach my students in my Careers class.  

It is amazing how this world of plastic cards has created a disconnect between money and purchases. With my own children when they want me to buy something, I make sure they have the cash and then hand it over to me from their bank so they can feel the loss.
