Financial Literacy in the Classroom

Alan Pink
I was pleasantly surprised to see my kid's 9th grade class had a financial course last year.  He loved it!  It was more than just the check writing and setting up a budget from my consumer business days. Based on his experience and the information from my online course I hope to come up with a lesson plan to incorporate over a 2-month period.

Among the concepts I would hope to cover: Budgeting, mortgage rates, credit scores, investments, insurance, and taxes.  When talking about many courses in school kids often ask, "When am I ever going to use this in real life?"  A decent course in finance could lay the groundwork for life-long application and interest.
