Financial Literacy in the Special Education Classroom

I teach high school special education. This is something that every one of my students will need before they graduate. So much emphasis is put on transition and how we are preparing kids for life after high school. Nearly every student I have answers that they need help with budgeting, writing a check, paying bills on assessments that I give them. In the past we have practiced writing checks and balancing fake check books and actually gone grocery shopping to comparison shop and practice paying with cash. I have a lot of kids who need direct instruction on these skills so I am excited to get some updated ideas/information as a lot of my material are kind of outdated.
