I am a fifth grade teacher and have used GMAIL for my school email for a few years. Sending and receiving emails is about the extent of my knowledge of GMAIL. One of my take-aways from the module so far is that I could use Google Hangouts in my room to communicate with parents. During our current situations with COVID-19, I could use Google Hangouts to conduct parent/teacher conferences with parents. I would easily be able to invite other teachers that need to be involved with the conference as well.
My students would not be able to use Google Hangouts in the classroom, because my district has assigned our students their own Google Account and they have a Gmail address, but they do not have access to it until they reach middle school. Their Google Accounts were only created so that they would have access to Google Classroom. I like the idea that students can work on projects together and share resources with Google Hangouts. Once again, during our current situation with COVID-19, Google Hangouts would make group work and any form of collaboration easier for students.
