We use gmail a lot as a staff. I am amazed how things have changed. When I started teaching about ten years ago we didn't have any computers in the classroom and now email, or gmail, seems indispensable for communicating with my colleagues and organizing curriculum, schedules etc. I use it a little to communicate with students who are not able to be in school. However, I don't email a lot with students. In fact, we are working on how to monitor students emailing each other, when they are supposed to be working. I also have a personal gmail account and I like being able to easily switch back and forth.
