Gmail Usage

I have used Gmail to have students in my classroom send me reflections of an assignment when I have a sub for the day. It's great because I get the satisfaction of seeing that my students are actually doing the assigned work and in a timely manor. I can then, respond to students whenever time allows that day.

That is a really great idea to use with upper level students!  Should make them more accountable for what they are doing.
