Gmail communication with students and parents

I am a special education teacher.  I value the opportunity to teach my students how to communicate using gmail.  I have students that have a technology literacy goal.  I frequently am instructing them on new skills and asking them to complete assignments via computer and google docs.  Often times they are asked to email myself, parents, other teachers, or classmates.  
I not only use gmail to communicate daily, weekly, or on a behavioral need with parents; but have some students whom are expected to communicate with their parents, other teachers, and myself on expectations of them.  It's okay if mistakes are made, but a plan and sharing it can make a difference.  My students show sense of value, when they know they can communicate via email.
