Gmail for Band Students

I can see using Gmail to communicate with my band students.  This and other Google apps would be valuable for sending each student information on their particular instrument (reed care, how to oil your valves, etc), practice goals, links to quality performance videos, etc.  It could be another avenue of communication  to students on material we have covered and worked on in rehearsal.  Also, I would be able to send them information on upcoming events that could be entered into Calendar.  Adding parents to the list would also help make sure communication is consistent and everyone is "in the loop."
