I teach preschool and started using gmail last year. This course is making me aware of all the features that are available to me thru gmail. I email the parents a daily update. I would also like to use the task and calendar feature to send important dates to the parents. I think Hangouts would be fun to use occasionally during center time so the kids can show their parents what they're working on in real time.
I like your ideas. This could work with me as well but I would use this gmail to stay in close contact with other teachers I work with in different schools.
