Gmail in classrooms

Jacqui Hart
I teach in a one-to-one district, so all of our staff and students have google apps and gmail.  I use groups to send my class links or announcements, as well as parent emails that I want all parents to receive.  Students hand a lot of things in via google doc, so I get them shared on my email.  Using labels helps me organize by section so I can pull all of them up at once to put into a folder.
I'm wanting to experiment more with tasks, which I have not used before.  Not only do I want to try sending my students task checklists (possibly for reading round assignments - especially if I have a substitute for the day) but I'd like to teach them how to use it also for group work or to make notes to themselves regarding assignments/deadlines/etc..  I'll need to use it a little more myself before really knowing all I can use it for.
