Gmail is a powerful tool for students. I would use it as a teaching tool to tie our class with other classes and grades within the district for learning opportunities. This can allow the students to learn the Gmail platform and have meaningful learning at the same time.
Also, Gmail can be used to teach file management through the use of Labels and Folders functions.
