As a literacy leader I have used Gmail with my fourth and fifth grade students that have their own Chromebooks. We are able to have an ongoing dialogue about a text and I can respond to their chapter summary or character analysis from the comfort of my home...after my kids are in bed! Being able to email back-and-forth with my students is highly engaging for them!
