Gmail in the classroom

Kim Cruse
I have used Gmail for the past few years through my school and have become used to some of the features. Each year, I have created a group list for all of my parents and frequently send them updates, test reminders, daily behavior information, etc. It is especially nice to create different groups with clear labels, such as "5th Grade", "6th Grade", etc.

My students do have gmail accounts, and they have only been used for more of the productivity tools, such as Slides, Docs, and Sheets. I am curious to read more about how to integrate the mail features and keep the students responsible for safe online behavior. It would be nice to share deadlines by just posting them in the calendar and not having to send a new email each time.
