Gmail in the classroom

Brenda Roberts
My current thoughts for using Gmail in my classroom include providing for effective communication with students and parents. Sending reminders to students and parents about tests and big projects will create a connection with those students that need to effectively share tasks with parents. Many students could do a better job of letting their parents know what their assignments and tests are in class and when these tasks are due.
Creating questions for students to answer and to use as a collaborative tool will encourage communication with students taking the same class but who may be in a different section. This ability to communicate will widen the range of discussion ideas for students to use.
Finally, creating pen pals within like classes and with students in other countries would promote learning that would create real world situations.
