Gmail in the classroom

jeannette thompson
Gmail provides a resource in order to share documents, like assignments, writing templates, and sites to students in order to make everything accessible to them.  In this day with 1:1 technology with the students in middle school and high school, gmail is essential in keeping the communication open between the teacher and the students, as well as parents.  It is nice to be able to set up groups, so there can be assignments that are for diverse learners and links can be provides for research or extra information.

Being a teacher in elementary, my students are just getting acquainted with the internet and I feel like a google account would be beneficial in later grades, not necessarily in 2nd grade.  We do use google a lot for communication within the school district colleges.

I agree second graders can learn to use this application but should do so with parental or teacher guidance.
Just responding as apart of the homework assignment.
