I have been using a personal Gmail account for many years, but I have discovered that there is so much more that can be done. I love the tasks option and could easily use it to remind students on upcoming events, tests, and deadlines. It would be fun to add in occasional easy ones, like "tell Mrs. J a joke" to see if they are checking it.
I also know several teachers out of state and it would be great to set up a pen pal arrangement. They would get real-life practice on sending messages, docs, videos, etc and learn about what things are like for other kids in different regions.
