I use google docs with students frequently when they are working on papers. I will sit down beside them on my computer and they have their laptop. We pull up the google doc and can work through it together. Often times I read the sentence just how it is written and when it is read like that, they can "hear" that it is not correct. Various other ways to assist them as you look through the document together.
