Gmail

Gmail can be used in the classroom for parents, teachers, and students.  I was surprised this year when students didn't think they could use email to contact someone in school about a school matter.  Evidently, a previous teachers told the students they couldn't use it.  It is such a time saver for everyone to use gmail to communicate.  The sender can communicate when its convenient for them, and the receiver can also deal with the gmail when its also convenient for them.
