I could use Gmail to communicate with students and parents about class expectations, activities, assessments, and resources. I would label different classes so that I can send different emails to my different levels. I would be excited to use the translation function for two reasons. I have had parents that did not speak English and I'm not at all confident that their student was translating what I said accurately. I would also use it in my Spanish classroom to compare our classroom translations to what Google said. It would be a good exercise for both translating and analyzing grammar rules in context.
