Google Drive/Classrom

Kristen Poen
I have used Google Classroom to organize what we are working on in class.  It is a great way for students to know what they are to be working on.  If there are resources you want students to have, you can put them in your classroom.  In our school, all teachers used Google Classroom so it was a great resource for students and their parents.  Just one more communication tool.

A lot of the teachers I work with use this. it is a great resource to post assignments and let students know what is due. I love it as a parent to be able to check what my son has turned in, what is missing, and what is coming up! Thanks for sharing

Kristen,

I also wrote about the benefits of Google Drive! I am pleased to hear that you have also begun using this application in your classroom as well.  I have not personally used Google Classroom in a school setting, but I have heard the benefits of this.  Google Classroom is definitely something I plan to use more of in the future.

I also use Google Classroom in my 5th grade class. We are fortunate enough to be 1-1 with Chromebooks so using Google Classroom has been a wonderful experience. About 70% of assignments are completed using Classroom in some way. If you are using G-Suite I would highly recommend looking into PearDeck. This is an add-on for GoogleSlides that allows you to insert interactive slides into presentations. Most of the option are available in the free version.

I think Google Drive/Classroom is great for parents to check on assignments so they know where their child is on turning in work.  They can get their assignments also. and as a special education teacher I can see if they are turning in work in the regular classroom.
