I have a GMail account, but have not used to much more than sending/receiving messages. Since I will be both a teacher and a coach, there are a number of functions available that will be very helpful. Having the google calendar visible on the left hand side will remind me games and practice times, to do list will hopefully help me get things done in advance, and email groups will allow me to send appropriate reminders about tests, assignments, and dismissal times. These first two areas could also be used by the students. They could develop their own calendars and to do lists.
