Google Sites with students and Classroom

Ralph Hughes
Google Sites is an excellent way for students can collaborate on group projects along with setting a schedule for their group on an embedded calendar to make certain all classwork is done on time.  Students can use it to exhibit findings from an experiment or a research projects for classroom or even public use.  Teachers can share information from a webpage for the class that explains what course materials and content  students will learn along with videos created by the students to share with parents.

Teachers and administrators can improve communication between staff by keeping a website that communicates school events or committee actions.  Of course teachers can and are creating websites to improve communication with parents.  Mentor teachers can embed videos of them teaching a lesson to help their mentee's improve their instructional skills.  Administrators can schedule their observations of staff along with a master schedule of pre and post observation to improve an administrators communication and organization of staff evaluations.

I now feel like I can use Google sites to help students develop projects, timelines, and create work groups.  Another function that you talked about was creating a Google website for teachers to use to communicate with parents and students.  I'm thinking about creating a Google website to keep parents informed with tips, sites, notes, etc. It sounds like creating Google websites to communicate with parents and students has been successful for you.
