Google in the Classroom

Amie Abbott
The school district that I teach in is a Google district.  Each student has a Chromebook assigned to them for classroom use.  I have set up group contact for my class.  I  am able to use Gmail to send my students group messages with activity links.  I often send them links to interactive websites, videos, and google docs to be used for classwork.

I have also set up a group contact for my parents.  It is easy and convenient to send group emails about upcoming classroom events or needs that our room may have.

I am excited to try out the translation aspect of Gmail.  I have one family this year that speaks Spanish in the home.  This may make communication easier with them, as they may be more comfortable speaking in their native language.
